At Ibn Haldun University Comparative Literature Department, our aim is to approach texts from different linguistic areas, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, in a comparative manner, and with a view to creating awareness about the permeability of civilizations
Our department offers courses that cover two levels of scholarship. One of them is the theory and method classes that will enable the students to acquire critical and analytical skills. The other will consist of courses that provide contextual depth to the narratives studied. Courses on mythology, art history, the philosophical background of social thought are shaped with this aim in mind.
At our department, scholarship is based primarily on critical thinking, and we aim to train scholars who will contribute to current discussions on literature, language and cinema. Our graduates will continue their careers in various fields as creative writing, script writing, documentary researcher, translator, editor, along with tourism, public relations and curation.
