In this study, Oğuz examined the influence of chess on the development of detective fiction through two literary works from different cultural and historical contexts. Highlighting the historical role of chess as a metaphor for human intelligence in the formation of detective fiction, she also touched upon how artificial intelligence and other technological advancements are reflected in contemporary detective fiction within the scope of her presentation.
