Rajeev Kumar, Lecturer in the Department of Comparative Literature, has published a book chapter titled “Unveiling Environmental Wisdom in the Panchatantra: A Blue Humanities and Dhamma Perspective” in the volume Towards ‘Bluer’ Humanities: Oceanic Meditations in Art, Literature and Culture. In this study, Kumar explores the classic Indian literary work Panchatantra through an ecocritical lens, examining its rich ecological wisdom and alignment with Buddhist dhamma. By applying Steve Mentz's Blue Humanities framework, it examines the Panchatantra’s reflections on nature and human-nature relationships, uncovering themes that resonate with contemporary environmental issues. The research aims to bridge Eastern and Western ecological perspectives, contributing to modern environmental ethics and sustainable practices.
